Which directories helped you find your first customers?

I launched a small SaaS product. How do you decide which communities and directories are worth spending time on?

Why it matches

A founder is looking for practical channel selection advice. Share a clear decision process rather than a generic product pitch.

A draft you can make your own.

Start with audience fit: who visits the platform, what they are looking for, and whether your product belongs there. Try a small shortlist and keep track of which listings bring useful visits...

From discovery to participation.

Discover

Choose your website, keywords and communities. Search manually or turn on optional automatic discovery.

Evaluate

Review the source, relevance explanation and date evidence. Save useful posts and ignore irrelevant ones.

Prepare

Generate in English or Chinese, edit the draft and copy it. Product mentions are optional and require disclosure.

Participate

Open the original thread, publish yourself and record your response URL and follow-up notes.

Your topics. The communities that matter.

Select from nine public communities. Results depend on what the search service can discover; private groups and every comment are not covered.

Optional automatic discovery

Every 12 hours, search the past 24 hours. In-app notifications cover newly discovered opportunities with verified original dates inside that window. Unknown dates remain clearly labelled.

Keep the history, skip the duplicates

Review individual search runs, including partial failures and empty results. Repeated posts keep their first discovery batch, saved state and participation records.

Clear scope before you begin.

Current discovery limits

Up to five searches per account, five manual scans per UTC day and 30 candidates per scan. Enable automatic discovery for up to two searches, with four automatic scans per UTC day. Reply generation allows 20 attempts per UTC day; failed attempts also count.

Evidence and review

Drafts use the stored title, search excerpt and your website profile, not the full thread. Original-date verification is currently attempted for Reddit and Hacker News and may be blocked. Other dates remain unverified. Read the original conversation, check facts and follow community rules before posting.

You control publication

Submora does not automatically publish replies or guarantee traffic, backlinks or rankings. Saving and copying drafts do not mark a post as participated. Record participation only after you actually reply.
